Texas
is one of the largest states in the nation, and it should come as no
surprise that Texans are embracing solar power. Texas is home to large,
open spaces that see plenty of sunshine year round. These open spaces
are ideal spots to set up solar panels, and the year round exposure
means that solar panels make good business sense.
That’s why many companies in Texas have been installing solar
kits and conducting solar research. For instance the film cells in new
solar technology are becoming more efficient, and are nearing the viability
threshold. Once viable, solar cell films could be applied to just about
any surface to create power generation space. Blinds and building sides
would be ideal applications for this technology.
Homes in Texas are also going solar. A typical home kit that provides
2 kilowatt/hours of power may seem like a large expense, but government
rebates and tax incentives dramatically lower the cost. And when you
stop and think that solar panels are built to last a decade or more,
and provide you with power the entire time; solar power looks less like
an expense and more like an investment.
